The event aimed to explore approaches to preserving the memory of genocide, and to discuss new research initiatives and cultural practices that help reframe the tragic pages of the past.

The city of Berlin hosted the celebration of the five-year anniversary of the EVZ Foundation’s program "Young People Remember" — an initiative that for half a decade has brought together young people, activists, and educators from across Europe around the themes of historical memory, human rights, and civic consciousness.
Babyn Yar Remembrance Day
September 29–30, 1941 — dates forever seared into the collective memory of Ukraine. On those days, nearly 34,000 Jews were murdered by the Nazis in the Babyn Yar ravine in Kyiv. This was one of the largest mass killings of the Holocaust, carried out in just two days. But the tragedy of Babyn Yar did not end there — it continued for years, claiming the lives of tens of thousands of people of various nationalities.

As part of the exhibition Invisible. Resilience: The Past and Present of the Roma, a series of guided tours were held at the Center for Living Memory. These tours were led by Volodymyr Yakovenko, Executive Director of the Youth Agency for the Advocacy of Roma Culture ARCA. Among the attendees were representatives of the police, educational institutions, and civil society organizations.

As part of the exhibition Invisible. Resilience: The Past and Present of Roma, hosted at the “Living Memory” Center in Kyiv, a special screening of the recorded documentary play Voices That Have Names took place. Following the screening, audience members had the opportunity to engage in a discussion with the director, Nataliia Vainilovych. The conversation also featured Volodymyr Yakovenko, Executive Director of the Youth Agency for the Advocacy of Roma Culture “ARCA”.
