2 серпня, в Україні та світі вшановували Міжнародний день пам’яті жертв геноциду ромів і сінті. Пам’ятні заходи, приурочені до 80-их роковин геноциду, відбувались і в Європі, зокрема, у Польщі, на території колишнього концтабору Аушвіц-Біркенау.
