International Conference "Roma as Integral Part of Society of Ukraine" on June 14, 2023 in Berlin

The Youth Agency for the Advocacy of Roma Culture in Ukraine (ARCA) and Central Council of German Sinti and Roma and - in cooperation with Chiricli (Roma Women Fund, Ukraine) - organized the conference "Roma As Integral Part of Society of Ukraine" on June 14, 2023 in Berlin.

Representatives of the governments of Ukraine and Germany, international and civil society organizations discussed ways to ensure the equal participation of Roma in Ukraine. Current political processes in Ukraine such as the Recovery Plan of Ukraine and the "National and Cultural Program of Unity in Diversity" of the Government of Ukraine have been analyzed. The conference is also intended to further support the current social and democratic development of Ukraine.

Roma civil society organisations developed their own situation analysis and recommendations. Specifically for the conference the Position Paper containing recommendations for the Ukrainian and German governments and the international non-governmental community has been established.

The event took place at the Evangelische Akademie zu Berlin, Charlottenstr. 53/54, 10117 Berlin, starting at 9:00.
