Voices of Memory and Future: ARCA’s Participation in the 5-Year Anniversary of the Program
The city of Berlin hosted the celebration of the five-year anniversary of the EVZ Foundation’s program "Young People Remember" — an initiative that for half a decade has brought together young people, activists, and educators from across Europe around the themes of historical memory, human rights, and civic consciousness.
The Youth Agency for the Advocacy of Roma Culture ARCA was represented at the event by Chinara Majidova, who took part in discussions and meetings focused on the role of remembrance in the contemporary world, as well as the challenges facing civic education in the digital age.

The program combined intellectual depth with emotional resonance: from the inspiring panel "Who Can Beat TikTok: Digital Space vs Civic Education?" to a moving visit to the Sachsenhausen Memorial, which reminded everyone that working with memory is not only about the past — it is about the present and our shared responsibility.
"The digital world is reshaping how young people perceive history. But that’s exactly why we must find new ways to speak about memory — honestly, boldly, and in a language that young people understand and feel," said Chinara Majidova.
The event was not only an opportunity to reflect on five years of work, but also created a space for collective reflection on how to build bridges between generations — between those who remember and those who are just beginning to ask questions.

The ARCA team warmly congratulates the EVZ Foundation on this important milestone and expresses gratitude for creating a space for dialogue, support, and inspiration. We are proud to be part of the Connecting Communities of Remembrance network and look forward to new joint initiatives that help us remember — and take action.
