About us
Youth Agency for the Advocacy of Roma Culture “ARCA” is a Roma youth non-governmental organization that has been working in the public sector of Ukraine since 2018, focusing its efforts on the development of the Roma youth movement, support and preservation of Roma history and culture, as well as building intercultural dialogue in Ukraine.
Our mission is to promote a positive image of Roma communities in Ukrainian society through education, media, history and culture.

Support Roma Genocide Survivors in Ukraine
Witnesses to the Roma genocide in Ukraine are among the few people in Europe who have survived two wars on the same land: World War II and today's Russian invasion of Ukraine. Their lives connect history with the present. Supporting these people is not only humanitarian aid, it is an act of justice. The initiative is led by the third generation of Roma witnesses, who care for the generation of their grandparents. The initiative is a manifestation of responsibility, intergenerational solidarity, and living memory.

А сьогодні — історія життя і діяльності сучасної ромської жінки, яка реалізувала себе в Україна. Йдеться про очільницю громадської організації «Романі Збора», ромську лідерку Жужуну Дудучаву, котра багато років підтримує ромські громади на Одещині. В інтерв'ю для «Жянес» активістка детально розповіла про досвід роботи організації під час війни, захист прав жінок та виклики з якими зіштовхуються місцеві роми і ромки.

Письменник і журналіст Максим Еріставі, який у своїй публічній діяльності говорить про злочини російського колоніалізму та його наслідки для колонізованих народів, зокрема для України, нещодавно увійшов до складу асоціації AURA (Ukrainian Roma Advocacy Alliance) — ініціативи, що працює в інтересах українських ромів у Німеччині. Він став членом дорадчої ради Українського ромського адвокаційного альянсу AURA.

Safeguarding Oral History of the Genocide of Roma in Ukraine
Safeguarding Oral History of the Genocide of Roma in Ukraine is an ongoing project dedicated to documenting, preserving, and safeguarding the oral histories of Roma genocide survivors in Ukraine. The project focuses on the collection and digitalization of survivor testimonies and the development of a unique methodology for recording oral history under conditions of ongoing war.
Remembering Together: International Summer School on Roma History in Berlin
From June 10 to 15, the Youth Agency for Roma Culture Advocacy (ARCA) in cooperation with the Society for Threatened Peoples hosted the international Summer School on Roma History, “Remembering Together” in Berlin .The project was funded by the EVZ Foundation and the Federal Foreign Office as part of the program YOUNG PEOPLE remember international. Bringing together 12 participants from across Europe and Ukraine, the program offered a unique opportunity to study and reflect on the tragic history of Roma and Sinti in the 20th century, with a particular focus on the genocide during the Second World War.
Thematic-Narrative Exhibition “The Invisible”
The Invisible. Resilience: Past and Present of the Roma is a thematic-narrative exhibition about the return of visibility. Once muted, Roma voices today speak boldly, distinctly, and with a rightful claim to equality. At the heart of the exhibition is Roma identity as a form of resistance traced through history: from persecution during the genocide of the Roma in World War II to the strength, visibility, and civic engagement of Roma communities in Ukraine today.
