On 17 May, the Pilecki Institute in Berlin hosted a presentation of the book "Russian Colonialism 101" by Ukrainian journalist and media expert Maksym Eristavi.
During the presentation, the author spoke more about why it is important to talk about the imperial narrative of the Russian occupiers, who for centuries have been occupying foreign territories, causing various peoples to suffer.
A separate topic for the German audience was the occupation of Ukraine by Russian troops since 2014. They also heard personal stories of Roma in Ukraine who were forced to leave their homes as a result of Russian aggression. At the same time, they also talked about those Roma who, since the beginning of the great war and Russian aggression, have joined the ranks of the Armed Forces to defend the state.
