On August 2, the Roma Holocaust Memorial Day, the delegation from Ukraine joined the commemorative ceremony in Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The memorial trip took place as part of the DIKH HE NA BISTER (“Look and Do Not Forget” in Romani) initiative.
The initiative builds a dialogue between modern generations and Holocaust survivors. Eyewitness testimonies help preserve history, better understand those terrible events, and motivate people to actively combat racism and antigypsyism in particular.
Commemorative events take place not only on August 2 in Auschwitz-Birkenau and Krakow, but also during numerous local initiatives across Europe.
